New playground opened

New playground opened

The new playgrounds on the recreation ground in Ravenstone were handed over to the Parish Council by the contractors on Saturday 22nd November. The work, which was started in June but badly delayed by Covid and the weather, has at last been completed replacing the old, worn out rides providing a great place for children to exercise, let off steam and play with their friends. The planning and outlay has been a substantial undertaking in both time and cost and those involved are rightly proud of the outcome. More »

Steve Farrington Director of Homeserve Building Services Ltd said. "My team have worked hard over past months to deliver this modern, state of the art playground resource, we are all very proud of it." Geoff Sutton Team Leader agreed and added. " It's been great to work with the Parish Councillors who have provided support throughout the build, for all of my team it's been an interesting and rewarding job."

Elliott Allman, Deputy Chair of Ravenstone Parish Council said "Given current problems we have delivered our plans to the village and are committed in providing more quality facilities to our residents. This high cost project has been not without its obstacles but as everyone who uses it will know its a sound investment for the future".

The Chair of the Council Sheila Lunn commented. "We were hoping to be able to have a grand opening of the two playgrounds but this was not possible so instead we arranged a simple handover with a few people present. I would like to thank Steve and his team for making such a wonderful job, and my fellow councillors for all their efforts and support and special thanks must go to Helen Chadwick our Parish Clerk who dealt with the finances so efficiently. Finally thank you to the people of Ravenstone for their patience, I'm sure when they see the finished product they will know that it's been well worth the wait. » Less
